Sinoć sam pogledala epizodu i, iskreno, dugo [još od treće epizode druge sezone] nisam osjetila toliki nalet hejta prema Eleni. Znate ono kada vas nešto stisne u grudima i jedva dišete koliko ste bjesni? E, upravo to. I onda sam zaspala. I probudila sam se jutros i taj osjećaj je još uvjek bio tu, ali ne zato što sam ljuta na Elenu ili Damona. Već zato što sam ljuta na pisce. Više o tome u nastavku posta.

Rekla sam Lidiji sinoć da ne razumjem Elenu. Ne hejtujem je. Samo je ne razumjem. Jer znate, Damon je ... Damon. Gledamo kako pati već dvije i po sezone, dvije i po godine i naravno da nam je dosta toga. Naravno. Vezali smo se za njega, jedan nam je od omiljenih likova i kada njega boli - boli i nas.

Ali sada, kada sam ponovo pogledala DE scene, shvatam da je Elena to rekla u afektu. Da to nije mislila. Da se pokajala čim su joj rječi izašle iz usta. I da li zaista možemo da joj zamjerimo? Prosto joj je dosta da joj ljudi oduzimaju pravo da donosi sopstvene odluke. Jedno je što mi, gledaoci, shvatamo da su te njene odluke nebulozne a drugo je što ona sama ne vidi to i ne može da vidi. Koliko puta ste donjeli neku odluku za koju ste bili apsolutno i potpuno ubjeđeni da je ispravna ali svi oko vas su bolje i jasnije sagledali problem ili situaciju i rekli vam da niste u pravu i pokušali da vas odgovore od toga što planirate, pokušali da vas zaustave da napravite još jednu grešku? Koliko puta? I koliko puta je ispalo da su bili u pravu a vi ne? Puno I previše, jel’ tako? Elena Gilbert je dobar lik jer je ona od svih njih najviše ljudsko biće. Lako je voljeti Caroline i Rebekhu kad su smješne, i lijepe, i rjetko grješi. Lako je voljeti Bonnie kad je ona ta koja uvjek spašava situaciju [lol, I know what I just said ali stvarno ima ljudi koji je obožavaju]. Lako je voljeti Katherine jer HBIC i ima najbolje izvale i najzanimljivije scene. Lako ih je voljeti. Ali je jako teško voljeti lika koji je predstavlja sve ono što je svako od nas, na ovaj ili onaj način, preživio. Kada osuđujete i hejtujete Elenu Gilbert, osuđujete i hejtujete, prije svega, sebe.

E sad, nisam sigurna ko je rekao da ono što je rekla nije bilo u afektu već da je bila pristojna pauza između te dvije rečenice. Ako je zaista bilo tako, da li mislite da je rekla šta je rekla s namjerom da ga povrjedi? ZAISTA? Da je NAMJERNO željela da ga povrjedi? Ako je to rekla namjerno, rekla je kako bi ga zaštitila. Isto kao što je on, ne znam ni ja koliko puta, rekao nešto ružno i uradio nešto ružno samo da bi je zaštitio. "I'll even let her hate me for it, but at the end of the day, I'll be the one to keep her alive." Garantujem vam svima da je Eleni isto to mislila kada je izgovarala one užasne rječi. Ako Elena upetlja Damona u sve ovo s Prvobitnima, automatski mu je ugrozila život, jer zna da ako je neko ma samo pogleda na ružan način, Damon bi poludio. I vjerovatno poginuo na mjestu. I ona ne smije to da dopusti. Ne smije. Jer je to njen Damon. Izgubila je toliko voljenih osoba i ako izgubi njega ko joj ostaje? Ljudi, vjerujete mi, u afektu ili ne, svjesno ili nesvjesno, Elena je rekla šta je rekla da bi zaštitila Damona.

Damon … Oni koji su stali na Eleninu stranu, hejtuju Damonu, uglavnom. Ne kontam. Sad se odjednom njemu zamjera nešto zbog čega ga obožavamo više od dvije sezone? Zašto? Jer je neko napokon rekao na glas da Damon Eleni oduzima pravo na sopstvene odluke? HELLO. Da li gledamo istu seriju? Radi to od početka serije, jer je on jedini tamo čije odluke i postupci imaju smisla. On je jedini koji je dovoljno pametan i sa dovoljno iskustva da zna da NIKOME ne može da vjeruje osim samom sebi. I on jedini koji je dovljno hrabar i jak da pretrpi sve uvrede i svu mržnju samo kako bi njegova Elena imala šansu da preživi još jedan dan. I da, možda je način na koji on to radi pogrešan ali da nije bilo njega, Elena ne bi preživjela ni 1x11. Da nije bilo njega mi ne bi imali šta da gledamo danas. Njegove “greške”, za razliku od Stefanovog blagog stava su spasile Elenu.

Kako je ovo ODJEDNOM loša stvar? KAKO? Kako Elena ODJEDNOM može da misli da je to problem kada ga je sama NATJERALA na sve to? KAKO? E, tu dolazi dio koji hejtujem. PISCI I NJIHOV OČAJNI POKUŠAJ DA NAPIŠU NEKI EPIC STELENA POVRATAK. Rade apsolutno istu stvar s Elenom koju su radili tokom čitave jebene druge sezone. Žrtvuju njen razum i pamet, žrtvuju njen karakter samo kako bi se dokazala SE "EPIC LUV". Pa druga sezona je bila fail svih failova upravo zbog toga. NE RADITE TO. AMAN. NIKO NE ŽELI DA GLEDA TO. Čisto sumnjam da pravi SE fanovi žele da povrate Stelenu na tako jadan način.

Muka mi je da pokušavamo nas 3 da vam objasnimo kako stvari stoje. I ne, mi ne opravdamo Elenu i ne pokušavamo da nametnemo svoje mišljenje, ono što mi pokušavamo da uradimo je da vam pokažemo da Elena nije samo proizvod svojih odluka. Isto kao što nije ni Dejmon, niti bilo ko od njih. Give her a break.

That awkward moment when KW unknowingly says that DE is endgame

Ja nikada neću prestati biti Team Delena, jer, mi nikada i nismo imali potpuno čistu situaciju, kao niti jedan drugi ship u seriji, tako da, ja ću se uvijek nadati.
S druge strane, ne pada mi na pamet prestati gledati seriju, jer ne čine samo Damon, Stefan i Elena seriju.
Ja se i dalje držim toga da ne shvatam Elenu, ne mrzim je zaista, jeste, iznervirala me, i to je bila moja prva reakcija, i mislim da je shvatljiva.
Samo sada opet kažem, da je poprilično ne shvatam. Neke stvari da, ali ne shvatam taj dio kad mu kaže da su njegove emocije problem, kada ona maltene čitavo vrijeme pokušava da mu to vrati, i kaže mu to. I onda onaj dio kada ona pokuša poljubiti Stefana. WTF!!
Ne znam ko je napisao, ali slažem se s njim. Ako tako pokušavaju vratiti Stelenu, onda je to takav fail, i takva ljigavost. Jer, nakon svega što je Stefan uradio, ona samo tako potrči, kao da ništa nije bilo. Nek izvine svako, ali ja mislim da Elena nije neka glupava srednjoškolka koja je u smislu "I'm so in love, oprostit ću mu sve."
Tu sam ja uglavnom pukla. U onoj sceni prije, meni je bilo žao Damona, užasno žao.
Slažem se s tim da je Elena sa svojih 18 godina preživjela dosta toga, i da ni njoj nije lako. Ali ovo gore što sam već navela, e to me pogodilo.

Pa ja iskreno i nisam TVD fan,ja sam prije svega i naspram svega DAMON FAN! A ostajem pritome da TVD vise ne gledam xD Ugl,ja mislim da je u sceni na tremu Elena bila toliko pateticna i jadna,like: 'Nema veze sto si me ostavio i sto si me pokusao ubiti na mjestu gdje su mi roditelji poginuli mojom krivicom...glavno da volim osobu za koju si se predstavljao da jesi!'-sorry,ja sam voljela Elenu i ona je bila odlican lik,ali ovo ju je unistilo. Rekla je da nece biti neka pateticna djevojka,e pa bas je to postala.

Damon is not the problem he is the solution

The big retcon, the OOC and why Damon is what Elena needs, no matter what Stefan says.

* 2x01

Stefan: [You kissed Elena] Because you feel something for her. Because you actually care. And I’m not going to come in here and destroy that part of you that has finally, after all of this time, willing to feel something.

After he spent all season talking about how Damon is an unredeemable monster, as the episodes pass, he has come to realise how important Elena has become for Damon too. Because it’s thank to her and her only, if his brother is starting to feel something good again, after all the pain Kaherine has caused him, and himself as well, now Damon puts another life before his own, he kisses Elena because he feels like doing it. And Stefan didn’t feel that betrayed, because he’d do anything to have his brother back, that’s what I thought when this episode aired. He forced him to turn into a vampire, and now Damon’s humanity is resurfacing, all because of Elena. And he’d never allow Katherine or anyone else destroy that little miracle. Damon on the other hand, it’s like he wants to be punched, because he kissed his brother’s girlfriend, again. Because he is still not ready, no matter what he says, to allow that good in him own the rest of his otherwise terrible existence. He can’t be sucked into another destructive relationship with a girl that isn’t just his own. In fact he does what he does, to Jeremy. To prove anyone wrong, that he can’t change because no matter if he does, no one will be there to really appreciate that. He is always the bad brother and so he must remain. But he can’t help it and he will not be able to control his emotions when it comes to Elena. Stefan was being almost genuine in his statement, he cares about his brother and hates to see his self destruction.

Damon: I love you Elena, and that’s because I love you, I can’t be selfish with you. I don’t deserve you but my brother does.

Damon once again feels inferior, Stefan just confessed him he had to turn him because he couldn’t bear the thought of him dying, because of him and the betrayal with Katherine and their father. He needed his brother, and Damon runs fast to Elena. No matter how many problems they may have, Damon sees that maybe Stefan really loves him and he really can take care of Elena (since in that episode, he was so ready to save her not giving a fuck if he’d die in the process. One of the few times Stefan has ever been that brave IMO). Damon let Elena go. The reasons are all very clear and it hurts him to do that but he thinks it’d hurt Elena more if he keeps pursuing her, Stefan deserves her, he can’t and he won’t bother her anymore, but as we’ll see, he will always try to protect her.

Stefan: You know, you could have told me.
Damon: How do I know when you’re going to go blabbing things to your girlfriend.
Stefan: You even understand what you put her through?
Damon: See, that’s why I didn’t tell you. ‘Cause you would have never been able to do it. Don’t get me wrong, Stefan. I don’t mind being the bad guy. I’ll make all the life and death decisions while you’re busy worrying about collateral damage. I’ll even let her hate me for it. But at the end of the day, I’ll be the one to keep her alive.

Now. A lot of shit went down. Damon has stopped another suicide mission of Elena in 2x10, because she was risking too much, and no one ever asked her to make such drastic decisions. And in this episode, he teams up with Bonnie, they trick Elena and Klaus, they work to fool him and to make it seems real. And the plan works very well, but Elena got her heart broken as she watches her best friend die, not knowing any better. Stefan would never have done that. Because he doesn’t want to watch her suffer etc ec but Damon doesn’t care because if he is sure of a plan, he knows it’ll work. And you notice how he points out how Stefan would never be able to do that, because his love for his girlfriend is too strong and it almost got in the way of his plan, that wouldn’t have worked if Stefan spoiled the game. Damon is ready to wear the bad guy clothes, but his main goal is to make Elena live, but not for himself, just because he has to keep her alive, if no one else does. In his own (wrong or right or sick or genial) way he totally helped her that night. His feelings for her weren’t any less real or strong for her than Stefan’s, but he succeed.

Stefan: Thank you. For being in love with my girlfriend. You know, you can be in love with Elena all you want… If it means that you’ll protect her. But I have the one thing that you never will.Her respect.

Now, Stefan is butthurt. Elena is alive, thanks to his brother and he decides to provoke him, he made assumptions about him and Andie, and he just goes for it as he says how grateful he is that Damon loves Elena, because he is so sure she’ll never love him back, since Elena doesn’t respect Damon and he doesn’t seem to care for the decisions she makes (no matter how wrong and unconsiderate they may be). It’s like “Yeah brother, you’ll keep her alive, thank you I’m not gonna pass for the bad boyfriend, but I’ll still be hers and meanwhile you protect her ass, I don’t really mind as long as she doesn’t respect you and she is with me.” I never hated a character as I hated Stefan in this episode. Damon doesn’t even care.

Stefan: You know, maybe you should stop being such a controlling dick, Damon.
Damon: Wait. Hang on. I’m the problem here?
Stefan: You’re a liability, brother.
Damon: I’m trying to keep her alive, Stefan.
Stefan: Yeah, well, your emotions are getting in the way of our plan.
Damon: My emotions? How is this even happening right now?
Stefan: Maybe because you care too damn much.

NOW. I’m sorry if I skipped a lot of shit, but I just want to go straight to the point: They retconned anything I said above here. They twisted the dynamics, now Damon is the problem because his love and devotion for Elena are too much to handle and it looks as if anything he has done for her doesn’t count anymore. Stefan has a total different reaction to Damon’s will to save Elena’s ass. And you know why? Because he is not her boyfriend anymore. Because Elena has seen the worse of him too and experienced it on her skin, because now Stefan and Damon may look the same in Elena’s eyes and because he put her through so much shit during all summer, he feels like he lost her. I really think, as he keeps screaming to the world how Damon is a terrible choice for her and how Elena deserves better than him, than both of them , I think Stefan’s main goal is to keep Damon and Elena apart. He knows they bonded, they became stronger and they survived without him (as if they could ever survive with him, but this is for another post). Damon sees the switch, he can’t believe what is happening, since when his ways of protecting and preventing terrible things, don’t work anymore? Wasn’t his brother thanksful he’ll be the one to keep her alive, no matter what? Wasn’t Stefan the first to appreciate how Elena brought back his humanity and all that was ever good in him? What? He became the problem now? No, he knows damn well you can’t trust anybody, but apparently his feelings aren’t as worth as meeting a stranger Original Mother who couldn’t care less for you and could kill you with a spell, eyes closed. Damon is mad. Remember when they had to trick Elena to believe Bonnie was dead, to defeat Klaus temporarily? Stefan almost spoiled the game, he and his “I want Elena to respect me, I respect her so much, I don’t care if she dies, she’ll die being respected and respecting his one true boyfriend” and Damon can’t stand it. You may say respect is important, but with Damon you can only ask so much, he is not a machine, but he’ll always be one if it means saving Elena, in any way he can. Ironic, because even if some times his emotions did hurt and get in the way and teared them apart, Damon’s love for Elena is what makes of her a still living person. He blood-forced her with his blood, but then you have seen how, wrong or right, he was still human at the end of the day, thanks to John too. It is super ironic how Damon can be the best and worst for Elena, but IMO she has never complained that much, expecially this season, as she did during this episode, Stefan had a bad influence on her, it’s clear.

Did I make some points here or not? I think I did. As long as they are together, Stefan almost enjoys history repeating itself, Damon hardly loves anyone, but he cares about Elena and he’ll protect her. But as soon as Elena has seen how terrible he could be, and in his own word “he was worse than Damon as a ripper back in the days”. he decides Damon’s love isn’t needed anymore. Now all he cares about is to once again shows Elena how much he still respects her, but hey, the fact that he used her as a weapon to blackmail Klaus an almost killed her or turned her into a vampire and all those things happened on that bridge, that never happened. Elena totally forgot about that, and she forgave Damon for the Jeremy mess after entire months. How are we supposed to take her seriously in ep14? How? She was just playing stupid. She always knew how far Damon is willing to go and how he kind of success in saving the day if she let him or if they team up. She said it herself they always survive, they were ready to let Stefan go, they can survive without him..and now I have to believe she can’t live without knowing that Stefan cares about her? That he is being good all night? Are you kidding me?

It’s like the past one and half of season never happened. Anything good about Damon is easily erased, because somehow, Stefan always has to play the part of the good guy. Even though all he feels is pain and he didn’t give a shit about Elena. Damon did, Damon loves her and she knows it. How could she act that way, it’ll always break my heart. I know how much she wants to make her own decisions, but is it bad to share it with the ONLY person who’s been there for you and who you yourself admit, need? What would be of Elena if Damon wasn’t there? No matter the reasons why Stefan left, Elena without Damon would be dead. Where were you Damon? Where were you Elena. I’ll never get over it. Yes, she may be scares of her feelings and of Damon’s feelings for her and she doesn’t know how to handle it yet, but that is not the way to make a point, you don’t treat a friend that way.
